A place to learn and belong

A Farm is a Living Ecosystem.

Florabunda is a nonprofit restorative farm in Malibu bringing people into a closer relationship with the land. Through hands-on ecological restoration and permaculture, we nurture living soil, support biodiversity, and grow a community rooted in learning and shared care for the natural world.

The land we seek to restore is best cultivated when we work closely with nature—not against it.

Instead of vast fields planted with a single crop, Florabunda draws inspiration from natural ecosystems: where trees, shrubs, herbs, flowers, and beneficial wildlife grow together in diverse, layered communities. Managed on a human scale through permaculture, food forests, and companion planting, every acre becomes a living classroom.

More Than a Place Where Food Grows.

Shared stewardship creates opportunities to learn, serve, and grow together. Because this land is cared for thoughtfully and intensively, it becomes a place where we become part of something larger than ourselves—restoring the deep connections between people, community, and the natural world.

We call this Florabunda.

why it matters

A Farm is a Living Ecosystem

Beneath our feet, roots, fungi, microbes, and earthworms form an interconnected network. These unseen relationships build fertile soil and sustain the abundance above ground.

Restorative farming begins with caring for this whole system. Trees, shrubs, vegetables, herbs, and flowers grow together in diverse, layered communities—tended by hand, where observation and care guide every decision.

Caring for the land creates opportunities to learn, contribute, and connect. Our vision is for Florabunda to be a space where people participate in active restoration, share knowledge, and build a deeper relationship with the natural world.

Working With Nature—Not Against It

Instead of vast fields planted with a single crop, Florabunda draws inspiration from natural ecosystems. Managed on a human scale through agroforestry and companion planting, every acre becomes an interactive classroom.
